Log 001

okayy so i’m finally getting around to talking about my health + wellness journey!!

this is honestly something i’ve struggled with for a while. staying consistent with exercise, eating habits, and maintaining a routine has always been one of my biggest challenges. i’ll do really well for a bit and then somehow fall completely out of the habit 😭

luckilyyy, my boyfriend has also been wanting to get back into the gym and start eating a little better, so we decided we’re doing this together ♡ having someone to keep me accountable and motivated makes everything sooo much easier, especially on the days where i really don’t feel like doing anything.

right now, one of my main goals is to get at least 30 minutes of walking on the treadmill every day. lately i’ve been doing around 2.6 speed with a 10 incline, and personally i’ve really been enjoying it. walking is probably one of the easiest things for me to stay consistent with because i can just put something on to watch, listen to music, and suddenly the 30 minutes are over.

i’m also trying to be a little more mindful about what i’m eating — nothing super complicated, just meals that are simple and that i actually enjoy.

for breakfast lately, i’ve been loving whole wheat toast with avocado and tomatoes ♡ sometimes i’ll have two slices, and other days i’ll do one with a boiled egg on the side.

for lunch or dinner, i usually keep it pretty simple with things like chicken breast and sweet potatoes, which has quickly become one of our favorite combinations. simple meals foreverrr because i genuinely cannot be bothered making something complicated every single day 😭

and of course i still get snack cravings because i am human!!

sometimes i’ll have a little bit of Takis when i’m craving something spicy, but most of the time i’ve actually been reaching for fruit. green grapes and pomegranate seeds are sooo good, especially when you want something sweet.

another current obsession is cucumber salad — literally just cucumber, lemon, and a little salt. sooo simple but soooo good. i’ve realized i actually prefer salads like that instead of ones covered in a million different sauces and toppings.

next week, we’re also planning on adding greek yogurt with chia seeds and fruit into the rotation. i already know this is going to become one of my favorites because greek yogurt + fruit is elite ♡ this is what my meals usually look like:

it’s only been about a week since i started being more consistent with walking and paying attention to my habits, and i’ve already noticed changes. more than anything, though, i’m excited that i’m actually sticking with it and starting to build a routine again.

i’m really trying to focus on consistency over perfection this time. i don’t want one off day to turn into me completely giving up like it has before.

i’m honestly really excited to see where this goes and hopefully reach the goals i’ve set for myself ♡ i’ll try to keep you guys updated along the way, and i also want to start posting some of my meals every now and then in case anyone needs a little meal inspo!!

anywayyy, here’s to taking better care of myself one little habit at a time ♡

see u in the next daydream ★
xoxo, izzy ♡
